Common Cloth fall 2007 collection. While back in Toronto a few months ago, I was in the Queen west area and had the opportunity to talk to one of the sisters from Common cloth. The store as a contemporary flare but still manage to maintain a cosy atmosphere.

Two weeks before this year's G-8 meeting, a wide range of projects, initiatives and protagonists from the fields of art, culture and political activism are going to gather in Berlin for "SUMMIT non- aligned initiatives in education culture." SUMMIT is a forum for questioning and changing some of the fundamental terms of the debate around education, knowledge production and information society.

Beyond the widespread lament about the crisis in education, there are numerous initiatives converging around "education." Recognizing that education is equally a platform for cultural actualization and self organization, these initiatives range from free academies and exhibitions as educational modes to ad-hoc initiatives within social, political and cultural organizations. Parallel to these developments, many initiatives are taking place within or at the margins of institutions that work against the grain of their official modes and expand, rather than defy, existing aims.

Jasper Garvida , “Peru" Collection
Jasper’s most recent collection only confirmed that Jasper’s innovation and talent shows no sign of slowing down. This absolutely stunning collection, inspired by colourful Peruvian tapestries and 1920’s silhouettes, featured delectably rich and vibrant colours coupled with remarkable tailoring reminiscent of the opulent 1920’s.
This collection premiered at London’s Alternative Fashion Week and incited awe-inspired cheers from the crowd.

Jasper Garvida reminds us that fashion is art.

Jasper’s new eagerly anticipated ready to wear collection will be premiered at Swatch’s Alternative Fashion Week in London, March 23rd 2007 and stocked at Boutique Gegenalltag, Vienna. For any other information, press or other please visit www.jaspergarvida.com and www.alternativearts.co.uk

Villa de Bank is a the former guest house of a wealthy textile family from Enschede. It is now a studio and gallery that feature artist from the region of Twente.

Working on a collage of all my ideas for the upcoming projects that are still in my head
Finally decided to put my quilted dress together and I even made a pattern. I hope to finish the dress soon.

Found this pillow case at a second hand shop. Love the pattern. Not sure what to do with it yet.

The 'Agency for Economy and Space Development', A.E.S.D., is a think-tank set up in London in 2004 by artists Shahin Afrassiabi and Sam Basu. Later artist Maziar Afrassiabi and architect John Colenbrander formed the Rotterdam branch of the agency taking part in the development of A.E.S.D.'s first project, which is the subject of this group presentation. Dreary atmosphere over Den Haag for the past few days. It rains most days but not enough to get you wet and uncomfortable. Not sure how I feel about this city yet.
